Souths tough hooker and captain from the 1960s and 1970s. George was 1st grade coach in the late 1980s and then became club Chairman. His tenure saw Souths go through the SuperLeague catastrophe and then saw the Rabbitohs excluded from the NRL competition. Piggins was the face of the fightback for reinstatement. He was again club Chairman when Souths were back in the NRL, standing aside in April 2003 after a bitter pre-election campaign at the SSDRLFC AGM.
