WANNA know what has really rankled those South Sydney players who were dumped for breaking a zero-tolerance alcohol ban last week? Several players, including co-captain Roy Asotasi, were spotted tying one on at the Golden Sheaf in Double Bay last Saturday night. Asotasi and Roosters forward Willie Mason were arm in arm, knocking back schooners, followed by chasers, followed by schooners followed by … Our operative identified another five Souths players. Sure, it was a day off and they breached no protocols, but Asotasi's form has hardly gone down well with those who cannot see the sense in dropping players for having a few quiet drinks after the loss to Brisbane while others then went and hammered themselves. Souths co-owner Peter Holmes a Court gave former captain Sean Garlick a dressing down for daring to suggest in the press that the club had set itself up for a fall by introducing the rule.

This is a pretty pitiful piece of journalism. There were also many other Souths players at the races enjoying themselves on Saturday afternoon. This did not break any rules.

Players enjoying themselves on their day off is very different to having to front up to work the next day at the recovery session smashed.

To me this whole thing has been a blessing in disguise. Look what it did;

1. Rogers gone and will probably never be seen again
2. Paea gone back to the NYC to develop
3. Talanoa some time off to refocus and get some confidence back
4. Kidwell gets a rocket up him and actually had a go yesterday

Sean isn't the type to let a pissant like Holmes a'Court give him a 'dressing down'. Watch out HaCK, your making less friends by the day.

Sean should have demanded his job!!!I don't have a problem with Sean's thoughts on the matter, but we don't need quotes willy nilly from ex players etc. ala Piggins and Satts. Lets just let the club make the public comments eh? And Phac be respectful of our history and don't dress our heroes down if in fact you did do that.
