THE NRL yesterday finally received South Sydney's contract with superstar Greg Inglis - but the saga is far from over.

Rabbitohs chief executive Shane Richardson admitted it could be another fortnight for the Rabbitohs to secure Inglis a release from his deal with the Melbourne Storm, but he remains confident the NRL will rubber-stamp the Test centre's move to the foundation club.

NRL salary cap auditor Ian Schubert is now scrutinising the contract, having already reviewed the terms of the deal earlier this month.

But so uncertain is Inglis' future he is yet to look for a house in Sydney, despite Souths boldly trotting him out at training in Rabbitohs colours.

Storm CEO Ron Gauci re-affirmed Inglis would not be heading to the burrow unless the international's outstanding legal costs were paid.

Gauci said he had not held talks with Inglis' manager Allan Gainey regarding the $113,000 legal bill "for several weeks" and said no progress had been made. "There hasn't been any change recently," Gauci said.

"It's been put on the backburner while [Inglis' management] sort through where he will be next year.

"I understand all parties are keen to see this resolved as soon as possible, and the talks we have had have been positive."

Richardson said the Rabbitohs and NRL had followed standard protocol throughout the ongoing saga but admitted the deal was not over the line.

"The contract is with the NRL and we've still got to get the release [from Melbourne]," Richardson said.

"I don't care if it happens next week or the week after, just as long as he is here [next season]."

NRL boss David Gallop said last night he had not held discussions with Schubert regarding Inglis' contract but added the salary cap auditor would give it a thorough assessment.

The lodging of the contract yesterday came as Richardson denied fresh reports his club was prepared to offload captain Roy Asotasi, with the North Queensland Cowboys ready to pounce.

"That's absolute rubbish," he said. "There hasn't been any approach from the Cowboys.

"Roy Asotasi will be the South Sydney captain in 2011 and Greg Inglis will play for the Rabbitohs."

You have come to this forum accusing others of having no credibility and making personal attacks. You attack the forum itself. You've told us many times what you think of us and you have told us many times how you are not using the forum anymore, but you're still here. You were asked a question in a thread you started, which I referenced in this thread directing you to answer. You were directed to do so because the other forum users deserve answers from you about the question raised in your thread. Because you have visited many times since that question was asked, and many times since you were directed to that question I am now taking action. You will be banned from the Hutch for one week. Following that within 24 hours if you don't answer the question that was raised in that thread you started your next ban will begin an exponential increment i.e. two weeks, then one month, then two months and so on. Each time you will be given 24 hours to answer.

The posters on this site behave with respect towards each other and act honourably. It is expected that you do the same.
