Infatuated Journalists

Back in October 2005, Phil Gould got it exactly correct when he wrote: "Phil Rothfield and Rebecca Wilson place agendas and personal grievances above readers' needs for informative, accurate and unbiased reporting."

A couple months after Gould nailed this truth, Rothfield was shouted a 5-star dinner by Russell Crowe. From that point on, Rothfield has done everything in his power to please the Oscar-winner. It was Crowe who gave Rothfield his perennially red cheeks. The morning after the banquet, a starstruck Rothfield told bemused colleagues that "it was the greatest night" of his life.

Gould should have added the name Josh Massoud.
WARNING: Lapsed Souths Members Check Your Bank Accounts

Souths supporters may remember during the last few months the Rabbitohs have gone very hard on selling membership, including using the Club's paid spruiker, Mario Fenech, to cold call lapsed Members to try and get them to 'prove their passion' by signing back up. But if that wasn't unsavoury enough, the membership drive has taken a turn for the dark side.

Over the last week the South Sydney DRLFC have been receiving calls from people who have ceased their membership this year. It appears that people who have not renewed their memberships for this year have had unauthorised debits from their bank accounts or credit cards which were kept on file from previous transactions with the Rabbitohs.

In 2009 Souths out-sourced

PHaC The Liar Tries to Dupe Members Again

On his facebook site today, writing from a barn somewhere in France, Peter Holmes a Court has written: "The money that Russell and I lent to help the club is only ever repayable out of future profits. It is not a liability that will ever bother the club or its members. It was lent in the firm belief that one day rugby league will be much stronger and that the top clubs will get a proper reward for what they are delivering."

What Peter says contradicts the 2011 annual financial report of the football club. It reads: "The terms of the related party loan agreements have been varied subsequent to the reporting date. As a result of these variations, loan repayments now commence no earlier than 31/10/15, and interest

Why Shane Richardson Is Desperate About Crowd Figures

In the Sydney Morning Herald, 12 April 2012, there is an article titled 'Five Foes Forge Coalition'. It reports that Souths and four other Sydney clubs have formed an alliance to try and boost dwindling crowd figures. Some might recall that Rebel Rabbitohs made mention of this unlikely coalition many months ago before it became news in the media.

Shane Richardson, in today's story, is mentioned. The story says: "Richardson has stated that attendances, which have been down on last year's figures, was the most important issue in the code."

The reason for Richardson's desperation is that from 2013 Souths will no longer receive crowd guarantees for home games from ANZ Stadium.
Nick Pappas: Clandestinely using Greek Community funds?

There is strong information around that Nick Pappas is trying to get the Castellorizian Club to merge with or provide a loan to the Souths Leagues Club (Souths on Chalmers).

The Leagues Club has immediate debts in excess of $1 million and has recently lost a Supreme Court case which will involve paying all court costs.

Leagues Club chairman Bill Alexiou-Hucker has been desperately chasing funds from any source possible for several months. But with no success, including a refusal from Laiki Bank, which has Nick Pappas as a director.

Nick Pappas was also a director of the failed Castellorizian Club, which had to close its doors some years ago. The club had to sell up all

Souths - The NRL club without any assets

As we all know now High Concept, the joint venture formed between Trivest (owned by Albert Bertini) and South Sydney Football Club Investments Pty Ltd (owned by the South Sydney Football Club made up of 75% Blackcourt League Investments and 25% the SSDRLFC) has gone into receivership. The High Concept joint venture was formed to do the development of the South Sydney Leagues Club after the SSFC won the vote of members for those rights.

When the news of High Concept going into receivership was broken by Rebel Rabbitohs it did not take long until the Business section of the SMH picked up the story. This forced Nick Pappas, the SSFC chairman, to comment when nobody from the Leagues Club or from the rest of the joint venture could be found by the journalist.

High Concept Commercial: Administrator Appointed

High Concept Commercial Pty Limited is the partnership between South Sydney Football Club (SSFC Investments Pty Limited) and Trivest Pty Limited. The partnership was formed in February 2007 to develop the four-level Chalmers Street building.

On 2 March 2012 the Australian Securities & Investments Commission placed High Concept Commercial "under external administration and controller appointed".

This was nearly two weeks ago. Yet the football club, 50% stakeholder in High Concept, has said nothing about it. Members are kept in the dark.

High Concept Commercial Pty Limited has 2 shares: 1 share is held by Trivest (Albert Bertini) and 1 share

The true cost of Shane Richardson at Souths

Shane Richardson came to Souths in 2004. In the eight seasons since then the club's financial records show that he has lost a massive $8.660 million. Add in the cash injection of $3 million for the 75% sale of the football club in 2006 and the loss becomes a staggering $11.660 since Richardson arrived at our club.

On average, under Richardson, the football club has lost $1.457 million a season. That's $121,462 a month. Each week Richardson posts a loss of $30,365. Every day Richardson got out of bed since coming to the club costs us over $4,337.

At Souths, despite being on $490,000 a year, Richardson has managed to lose on average over $4,337 a day, $30,365 a week, $121,462 a month, and $1.457 million each and

Shane Richardson in massive damage control

Last night an article by Adrian Proszenko appeared on the SMH website giving an accurate picture of the situation at Souths and what Shane Richardson's part has been. Some hours later a sycophantic article by Daniel Lane, which amounts to a Shane Richardson resume mysteriously appeared as well. Talk about damage control.

There are so many lies and misrepresentations in this ridiculous puff piece it's hard to know where to begin. But we'll give it a go:

First of all his wife who he invokes several times in the article and particularly to give the impression the two were married back in 2004. When Shane Richardson came to Souths he was carrying on an extra-marital affair with the woman who is now his wife, Kate Richardson.
