Russell seems to have been careless with the fact that Shane Richardson had been a SuperLeague functionary and as CEO of Cronulla Sharks had signed an affidavit which lobbied for the exclusion of the Rabbitohs from the 2000 competition and beyond. The portrait of Shane Richardson as 'from within the Souths family' is unacceptable to Souths people)
