The South Sydney Rabbitohs has been a Rugby League Club for over 100 years. Events in its history make it entirely unique, including: its exclusion from the top level competition at the end of the 1999 season and the subsequent grass roots movement which saw a wave of popular support push the club to reinstatement back into the NRL for the 2002 competition. Recently the club was privatised with Peter Holmes a Court and Russell Crowe purchasing 75% control of the South Sydney District Rugby League Football Club (SSDRLFC), via a new entity, the South Sydney Football Club (SSFC) via their company Blackcourt . The Members retain 25%, and on paper, retain the last say on changes to where the club plays, the colours, the logo and the club songs. Throughout all of its recent history the Rabbitohs have been subject to a culture of lying and deception. Many of its officials over the years have been found to be less than competent and lacking integrity. The Club unfortunately has a history or smokescreening, deviousness, trickery and Machiavellian politics. Rebel Rabbitohs is dedicated to exposing the sordid underbelly of Souths.
